Party for the pigs
at our 2008 Christmas Fundraising Dinner!

This year, our Christmas Fundraising Dinner will raise funds for our campaign to end the factory farming of pigs – and specifically fund our undercover investigations.

For 14 years Viva! has been fighting for the animals. Through popular campaigns, solid research, undercover exposés and effective media skills we have brought the reality of modern farming into people's living rooms. Recently, we have been targeting local media with shameful conditions we have uncovered on pig farms in their area. Our shocking findings have alerted thousands to the suffering of pigs raised in concrete hovels, often without any bedding or comfort. Pig meat sales are falling, but we want to roll our investigations out across the country to ensure this downward trend continues. We desperately need funds to do this. Help us make a difference – and have a great time doing so!

Our fundraising dinner will be held at Circomedia in Bristol on Saturday 13 December, 6.30-11pm. Circomedia is a worldwide centre of excellence and combines traditional circus skills with physical theatre and creativity. St Pauls Church, where the dinner will be held, is an 18th century church which has been painstakingly restored by Circomedia to its former glory.

To take advantage of this unique venue, there will be a spell-binding corde lisse performance (an aerial act using a vertically hanging rope) at 7pm by artist Rebecca Mayfield before the dinner, which guests can enjoy over a glass of wine. Then at 7.10pm, a short presentation on our pig campaign will be given by Viva!'s Deputy Director Justin Kerswell, followed by a delicious vegan meal and then after-dinner speakers, auction and raffle.

Tickets for the dinner are priced at £65 which includes a three course gourmet vegan meal (see below for menu), vegan wine and of course great company!

So please join us, if you can, for what will be a wonderful evening amongst friends – we look forward to seeing you there.
